Description
A great opportunity to join a vibrant and emerging company in the role of General Manager in a 75 bedroom city centre property in Winchester, Hampshire that has extensive refurbishment plans for 2012.
The Winchester Royal Hotel, Winchester is part of The Forestdale Brand owned by Akkeron Hotels. The hotel comprises 75 bedrooms, a conservatory restaurant and terrace bar and 6 suites offering meeting and event facilities for up to 120 people.
The role reports directly to the Regional Operations Director and manages the Hotel Heads of Department, liaising with the regional Revenue, Sales and Finance teams. As General Manager you are responsible for working closely with HOD’s to develop realistic financial, operational and business plans which support the overall objectives of the Hotel and Company.
The Hotel General Manager will assist with developing and implementing a Hotel business plan to maximise revenue generation. Other accountabilities will include; maximising food and beverage revenues & profitability in the F&B departments; ensuring payroll budgets are monitored and maintained. You will that product quality and service standards are met an all areas of the Hotel.
As the General Manager you will be responsible for managing and motivating your team. You will be required to ensure that all staff within all departmentsare adequately trained and developed in line with company policy. You will also be responsible for the Recruitment and Selection of your management team and for managing any Human resource issues with the support of the Human Resources Department. You will actively guide and direct the whole team to ensure consistency of brand standards and a high level of performance and service delivery.
Requirements
- Personal license holder
- Experience in working in a Sales culture
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Familiarisation with leading PMS software brands, particularly REZLYNX
