Description

If you have taken a gap year and love talking about it, then this could be the perfect internship opportunity for you. We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and outgoing graduate to join us as a sales intern. A good understanding of gap year travel and volunteering abroad is essential as we will rely upon you to convince others to take time out to do this.

As a Gap Year Advisor you will be talking to prospective volunteers and interns, suggesting exciting opportunities and places they can visit, drawing on your own experiences of a gap year, while helping them plan theirs.

We are looking for a proactive and innovative individual who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will bring a high degree of energy to our team.

We will reward you for your efforts by providing you a learning opportunity, a stipend to cover your expenses and an incentive based upon the sales you bring. This is a great opportunity to become an integral part of a growing gap year travel company, with potential of a permanent position if you succeed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

a) Respond to online and telephone enquiries from potential volunteers
b) Proactively call out enquirers to promote our programmes
c) Take ownership of individual enquiries, delivering to targets
d) Coordinate and represent us at exhibitions, fairs and other promotional events
e) Chat online with visitors to our website using our live chat system

Requirements

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

a) Pleasant outgoing personality, articulate and well spoken with a good command of the language and must have a positive 'can do' attitude
b) Able to relate and communicate effectively with different customer groups to understand what they are looking for and suggest options
c) Familiarity with volunteering and travel, having taken a gap year and understanding the benefits it brings
d) Previous sales experience and be confident and persuasive
e) A true passion for travel
