Description

Spend part of your summer teaching English!

Our centres run for 4 to 9 weeks, depending on location. Junior Centre teachers may be employed for all or part of the summer programme.  A Junior Centre teacher may be locally-based (i.e. non-residential) teacher, or residential.
  
Students are aged 12-17 and come from all over the world.   They receive English language tuition together with a programme of activities and excursions. 
  
Duties will include:

  • Each teacher is required to teach the designated number of hours/ week.
  • Professionalism is expected throughout.
  • Student absences to be reported to the Head Teacher
  • All paperwork to be completed
  • Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required by the Head Teacher
  • To submit to classroom observations, notified in advance,
  • To assist with placement testing if required
  • To attend leaving ceremonies and parties if required
  • To liaise with Group Leaders if requested

Requirements

Essential:

  • First Degree
  • CELTA or Trinity TESOL or QTS/PGCE in English may be considered
  • Native or native level English speaker
  • Clear and confident communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to motivate and encourage

Desirable:

  • At least 2 years teaching experience
  • Previous experience of working in a summer school
  • Previous experience working with minors
  • Knowledge and experience of Trinity GESE exams
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong time management and planning
  • Proven ability to work well in a team
