Spend a summer working in a fascinating country and experience the unique cultural combination of old and new, traditional and modern.
We offer an attractive 3-month package for full time summer teachers, with less teaching hours than previous years, to leave ample time for exploring the city and getting a feel for the culture and people.
Teachers are contracted for 210 teaching hours over the 3 months. Overtime is calculated and paid at the end of the contract on any teaching hours over the 210 contracted hours.
Teachers are expected to teach a range of programs, including the young learner summer program and the adult public program, as well as the extra curricular activities program. Opportunities are also available to work at our summer camps (two weeks at a residential camp for young learners). Teachers also need to be aware that there are some off-site courses, particularly in HCMC, and although they may be required to teach across the range of courses that we provide, the focus is likely to be on young learners.
Classes are scheduled from 7.30am to 9.45pm Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 7:30pm on Saturday, and 7:45am to 6:00pm on Sunday; teachers may be scheduled anytime during these hours, over a 5 or 6 day timetable. Generally, teachers are timetabled to work a 5-day week, with two consecutive days off.
Benefits include:
* An allowance of $529 (based on $500 flight allowance) or $412 (based on $1000 flight allowance) per month

* Overtime payment of $17-$21 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

Job requirements:
* Native English speaker
* CELTA/Trinity TESOL or equivalent (on-line certificates are not acceptable)
* BA or MA (if thinking about extending your contract after the 3 month period (work permit restrictions)
* At least one year’s experience or B in CELTA
* Prepared to teach young learners, which is the focus of the summer programme
* Awareness and willingness to teach some off-site classes (especially in HCMC)
* Enthusiasm, energy and a strong sense of cultural awareness are essential |
